Who can take part

  • Your baby was born at 34 weeks or earlier
  • Your baby has respiratory distress syndrome (breathing trouble)
  • Your baby has been on a high-frequency ventilator (HFOV) for more than 24 hours
  • Your baby needed the ventilator because non-invasive breathing help (like CPAP) didn't work, due to high carbon dioxide levels, low oxygen, or frequent pauses in breathing
