This study uses a blood test (called a liquid biopsy) to help doctors tell the difference between two common types of liver cancer: hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). If you have been diagnosed with one of these cancers and have a blood sample taken before starting curative treatment, this study may help improve diagnosis and care.

Who can take part
- You must have a confirmed diagnosis of either hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) or intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) by biopsy.
- You need to have had standard tests for liver cancer staging as part of your care.
- You must have a blood sample available that was taken before you started any treatment intended to cure your cancer (like surgery, radiation, or ablation).
- You cannot have both HCC and ICC at the same time.
- You cannot have other types of primary liver cancer (for example, mixed tumors) or cancer that spread to your liver from another part of your body.
