Who can take part
- You are 18 to 75 years old.
- You are diagnosed with distributive shock (a type of shock where blood vessels widen too much).
- Despite high doses of blood pressure support medications for at least 6 hours, your average blood pressure stays between 55 and 70 mmHg or is not reaching the target.
- You have received at least 30 mL/kg of fluids in the last 24 hours or have had enough fluids as judged by your doctor.
- You have a high cardiac output (heart pumping well) or high oxygen levels in your central veins, along with a high central venous pressure.
- You have a central line and an arterial line in place, and are expected to keep them for at least 48 hours.
- You do not have certain conditions like severe burns, liver failure, active bleeding, or recent cancer.
