Who can take part
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must be receiving a moderate dose of norepinephrine (a blood pressure medicine) through an IV, even after getting enough fluids
- You must be getting IV antibiotics or your doctor plans to give them
- You (or your legal representative) must be able to sign a consent form
- You cannot have a current heart attack (acute coronary syndrome) or certain other heart conditions
- You cannot have bleeding that requires blood transfusions
