Who can take part

  • You had heart surgery and developed acute kidney injury (sudden kidney problems) within 48 hours after the surgery.
  • You do not have end-stage kidney disease (kidneys have permanently stopped working) and are not on dialysis.
  • You have not had a kidney transplant.
  • You do not have a 'Do Not Resuscitate' (DNR) order.
  • You are not pregnant.
  • You are not expected to die within 24 hours or survive less than 28 days due to another serious illness.
