Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are scheduled to have surgery to remove one kidney completely (radical nephrectomy).
  • You do not have only one kidney before surgery.
  • You do not have advanced chronic kidney disease (stage 4 or 5), meaning your kidney function is below 30% of normal.
  • The tumor has not grown into the large vein (vena cava) that requires a special surgery to remove it.
