Who can take part

  • You are between 8 and 75 years old
  • You have had ITP for more than 12 months (chronic) or your ITP has not improved with standard treatments (refractory)
  • Your platelet count is less than 30,000 per microliter of blood
  • You are not taking medications that affect platelet function (like aspirin or blood thinners) within 2 weeks of starting the study
  • You are willing to use reliable birth control during the study
