Who can take part
- You must have non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (the most common type)
- Your cancer must be advanced (stage IIIB, IIIC, or IV) and cannot be removed with surgery or cured with radiation
- You cannot have had any prior drug treatment for advanced lung cancer
- Your tumor must have a PD-L1 level of 50% or higher (a high score for immunotherapy)
- Your tumor must not have certain genetic changes (like EGFR, ALK, or ROS1) that could be treated with targeted pills
- You must be in good enough health to walk and take care of yourself (ECOG 0 or 1), and have no serious lung inflammation or scarring
