Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are scheduled for a minimally invasive aortic valve replacement through a small cut on the right side of your chest
  • You are in generally stable health (ASA class II, III, or IV) and have a low-to-moderate surgical risk score (EuroSCORE 2 of 4% or less)
  • You are not dependent on strong painkillers (opioids) and do not have chronic pain
  • You are not allergic to the study medicines or have severe kidney/liver problems
  • You do not have a serious infection near the surgery area, uncontrolled epilepsy, or cognitive issues, and you are not pregnant or breastfeeding
