Who can take part

  • You have a serious chest bruise and are in the intensive care unit (ICU).
  • You are 18 to 90 years old.
  • You are on a breathing machine (ventilator) and have been in the ICU for less than 12 hours.
  • You do not have a pacemaker or open wounds on your chest.
  • You are not on a heart-lung bypass machine (ECMO) and don't have a collapsed lung that hasn't been drained.
