Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have moderate to severe ARDS (a serious lung condition causing low oxygen) diagnosed within the last 3 days.
  • You are expected to need a breathing machine for at least 2 more days.
  • You do not have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or other implanted device that could interfere with the EIT monitor.
  • You do not have a collapsed lung that hasn't been treated.
