This study tests whether a gentle nerve stimulation device (tVNS) placed on your ear can help reduce symptoms of anhedonia (loss of pleasure) and anxiety. You will also have brain scans (MRI) to see how the treatment affects your brain.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 40 years old
  • Your BMI (body mass index) is between 18.5 and 30
  • You do not have severe health conditions like epilepsy, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or recent eating disorders
  • You are not pregnant or nursing (if female)
  • You have no metal in your body and are not claustrophobic (needed for MRI)
  • Your right ear is healthy and you do not need a hearing aid (for tVNS device)
