Who can take part

  • You are 60 years or older.
  • You are scheduled for a hip, knee, or spine surgery that will last at least 2 hours.
  • You do not have a brain disease or mental health condition.
  • You do not have a severe heart, lung, liver, or kidney disease or bleeding disorder.
  • You do not often use psychiatric medications, strong painkillers, or steroids.
