Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder (a type of depression) that hasn't improved with at least one antidepressant
  • Your doctor has recommended a medication called lithium
  • You have never had a manic or hypomanic episode (extremely high energy or mood)
  • You have not had electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) or repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for this current depressive episode
