Who can take part
- You must have had a blood clot (deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism) that was triggered by a known cause like surgery, birth control, pregnancy, or long travel, and your last clot was over 6 months ago.
- You are not currently taking blood thinners (anticoagulants) or stopped them more than a month ago.
- You are able to walk for 60 minutes without safety concerns (no heart or lung problems that would make exercise unsafe).
- You do not have any chronic illnesses like diabetes, inflammatory disease, heart failure, kidney or liver disease, or a recent artery clot (within 3 months).
- You are not pregnant or within a year of childbirth, and if you are a woman, you are not using estrogen-containing treatments (like birth control pills) in the past month.
