Who can take part

  • You are an adult (18+) who has recently had surgery (abdominal, vascular, or after major trauma).
  • You are now in the intensive care unit (ICU) for recovery after that surgery.
  • You have a positive test for Acinetobacter baumannii bacteria along with signs of a body-wide infection, such as fever, high CRP, or high white blood cell count.
  • The bacteria must be resistant to the antibiotic carbapenem (a strong type of antibiotic).
  • You are not allergic to the study medications, and you agree to participate.
