New score for diagnosing long biceps tendon injuries

This study is creating a new scoring system to help doctors better diagnose injuries to the long biceps tendon before surgery. If you are planning surgery for shoulder pain that hasn't improved with treatment, this research may help improve how your condition is managed.

  • You have had shoulder pain that has lasted more than 6 months.
  • Your doctor has recommended surgery because medical treatments (like therapy or medication) didn't help after 6 months.
  • A scan does not show that your long biceps tendon is completely torn.
