AV133 PET scan study in early Parkinson's disease

Who can take part

  • You are 30 years or older (for Parkinson's disease) or 60 years or older (for early signs without diagnosis).
  • You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease within the last 2 years and are in the early stage (Hoehn & Yahr stage I or II), OR you have early signs such as loss of smell and a family history or genetic risk for Parkinson's.
  • You are not currently taking any Parkinson's disease medications like levodopa, dopamine agonists, or MAO-B inhibitors.
  • You are willing to stop certain medications (like some blood pressure or stimulant drugs) that can interfere with the PET scan, if needed.
  • You do not have dementia or other significant memory problems, and you do not have a heart condition or take medications that affect heart rhythm.
