This research study tests a new type of brain scan (called a PET scan) that may help detect early signs of Parkinson's disease and similar conditions. You'll receive the scan and may have a spinal tap to check for specific protein markers.

Who can take part
- You must already be enrolled in the PPMI 002 study (or meet criteria for Parkinson's, prodromal PD, or MSA if not yet enrolled)
- Age 50–75 years old (up to 80 for Parkinson's patients)
- Able to safely have a spinal tap (lumbar puncture) and brain imaging (MRI or DaTscan)
- No diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or other neurodegenerative diseases
- Not taking certain medications (dopamine blockers, lithium, reserpine) in the past 6 months
- Willing to temporarily stop blood thinners or certain other medications before the procedure
