This trial tests whether personalized care can prevent acute kidney injury (sudden kidney damage) after heart or major blood vessel surgery. If you are having planned heart valve repair, bypass, or aortic surgery, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for planned (not emergency) heart valve surgery, with or without bypass.
  • You may also have planned surgery on the main blood vessel in your chest or belly (aorta).
  • You do not have a kidney transplant or need dialysis.
  • You do not have severe liver disease (like confusion, very high bleeding risk).
  • You must sign a consent form agreeing to take part before your surgery.
