Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You are scheduled for ACDF surgery on your neck
  • You are in good general health (classified as ASA I, II, or III)
  • You are not already on a breathing machine before surgery
  • You do not have an unusual shape or deformity in your neck
  • You do not currently have a sore throat, trouble swallowing, or a hoarse voice
