This trial tests whether a drug called dronabinol (a synthetic form of THC) can help reduce severe shortness of breath in people with advanced COPD who are already receiving the best available treatment. If you have severe COPD and still feel very breathless, this study may offer a new option to improve your breathing.

Who can take part

  • You must have severe or very severe COPD (GOLD stage 3 or 4).
  • You must have persistent shortness of breath even though you are on your best treatment (mMRC score ≥ 3).
  • You must not have had a COPD flare-up or infection in the last month.
  • You must not be using cannabis, THC, or CBD products currently.
  • You need to be able to understand and speak Danish.
