This trial tests a new device (ARIA) that helps people who are blind navigate daily tasks. If you have no light perception or only light perception, use a long cane, and are comfortable with a smartphone, you may be able to take part in 4 sessions in Sydney.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • You have no light perception or only light perception (cannot see shapes or movement)
  • You can stand or walk for at least 30 minutes at a time and use a long cane to travel independently
  • You can have a conversation without hearing aids (no more than mild-to-moderate hearing loss)
  • You have a smartphone and have used an app or device for wayfinding, and you can attend 4 sessions in Haymarket, Sydney
