Who can take part
- You are 15 years or older
- You have been diagnosed with primary ITP and your platelet count is very low (below 30) or below 50 with bleeding
- You have a positive ANA antibody test but no other specific autoantibodies like dsDNA, SSA, or SSB
- You have tried at least two high-dose steroid treatments or a month of standard steroids, and your platelets didn't improve or dropped when steroids were reduced
- You have no history of blood clots or conditions that increase clot risk, and no serious heart problems
- You are not allergic to 4-aminoquinoline drugs, and you have not used certain blood thinners or NSAIDs recently
