- Age between 35 and 75 years
- Body mass index (BMI) less than 39
- Knee osteoarthritis that is moderate to severe (X-ray grade 3 or 4)
- No inflammatory arthritis (like rheumatoid arthritis) or autoimmune disease
- No steroid or biologic injections (like PRP or stem cells) in any joint in the past 6 months
