Botulinum toxin plus shockwave for leg spasticity in cerebral palsy

This study tests if combining botulinum toxin injections with radial extracorporeal shockwave therapy (RESWT) works better than injection alone for reducing leg spasticity in children with cerebral palsy. If your child has spasticity in leg muscles and is already receiving botulinum toxin, they may benefit from this additional therapy.

Who can take part

  • Your child has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
  • Your child has stiffness or tightness (spasticity) in at least one leg muscle group.
  • Your child has received a botulinum toxin (Botox) injection for a spastic leg muscle.
  • Your child does not have any conditions that make shockwave therapy unsafe, like uncontrolled epilepsy or a bleeding disorder.
  • You or your child agree to take part in the study.
