Who can take part

  • You had a stroke (either from a blocked or bleeding blood vessel) at least 6 months ago, and it has caused moderate to severe weakness or movement problems in one arm.
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • Your arm function is limited but not completely paralyzed, such as being able to move your arm a little but not use it normally.
  • You do not have metal implants, a pacemaker, or other conditions that would make brain stimulation or MRI unsafe.
  • You do not have other neurological diseases (besides stroke), severe memory or thinking problems, or very stiff arm muscles.
