Who can take part

  • You are 40 years old or older.
  • You have had an ECG (a heart tracing) as part of routine care, not just for an emergency.
  • You have never been told you have atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat).
  • You do not have a permanent pacemaker or an ICD (a heart device that can shock the heart).
  • You have not had heart surgery within the past 30 days.
  • If you are being checked for structural heart disease, you must not have a known history of it and must not have had an echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) in the last year.
