AI-enhanced ECG for detecting hidden atrial fibrillation

This trial tests whether an artificial intelligence-enhanced ECG (called SmartECG) can detect hidden atrial fibrillation better than usual care in people who have symptoms like a racing heart or dizziness. If you qualify, you'll be randomly assigned to get the AI-enhanced test or standard monitoring, and followed to see if AF is found.

Who can take part

  • You are 30 years old or older.
  • You have symptoms that might be atrial fibrillation, like a fluttering heart, dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath, or chest discomfort.
  • A recent 12-lead ECG (heart tracing) did not show atrial fibrillation.
  • You have never been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation before.
  • You do not have a serious illness that limits your life expectancy to less than one year.

AI predicts atrial fibrillation after stroke of unknown cause
