Who can take part
- You are between 40 and 70 years old.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18.5 and 35.
- If you have type 2 diabetes, you must have been diagnosed for more than 10 years.
- You do not have other causes of nerve problems (like vitamin B12 deficiency, heavy alcohol use, or chemotherapy).
- You have not been immobilized (unable to move normally) for more than 3 months ever, or more than 4 weeks in the last 6 months.
- You do not have certain serious health conditions (like severe heart or lung disease, cystic fibrosis, chronic muscle disease, active cancer, or a history of weight-loss surgery).
