Who can take part
- Men ages 18 to 55 or women 18 to 65
- Narrowing in two or more heart arteries, with at least one blockage between 50 and 70%
- LDL cholesterol above 3.4 (if not on statins) or above 1.8 (after 4 weeks of statins)
- No prior use of PCSK9 inhibitors (like Repatha or Praluent)
- No history of hemorrhagic stroke, heart bypass, or stent placement
- No severe kidney or liver problems, and not pregnant or breastfeeding
