  • You must be in the intensive care unit (ICU).
  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You either have ARDS (as defined by the new global criteria) or are at high risk of developing it (like having severe pneumonia, sepsis, or a serious injury).
  • You cannot be in another clinical trial right now.
  • You must agree to participate by signing a consent form.
