Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You have been on a breathing machine for more than 24 hours.
  • You are at high risk for needing the breathing tube again — either because you are over 65, or have a chronic heart or lung condition.
  • Your lung ultrasound score is above 13.
  • You do not have a serious nerve or muscle disorder, and you are not pregnant.
