Who can take part
- You must have been diagnosed with persistent atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat that lasts for more than a week).
- You should be between 20 and 80 years old.
- Your left atrium (the upper heart chamber) must be smaller than 55 mm on an ultrasound.
- You must not have had a previous catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation.
- Your heart's pumping ability must be at least 30% (measured by ultrasound).
