Who can take part

  • You have Graves' disease with an overactive thyroid and are either newly diagnosed or have been on medication for less than 3 months (or longer but not regularly).
  • Your thyroid hormone levels (FT3 or FT4) are higher than normal and your TSH is lower than normal.
  • You have a positive TRAb blood test, which means your body is making antibodies that attack your thyroid.
  • You do not have a large goiter (thyroid enlargement) that is grade 3 or higher.
  • You do not have moderate or severe thyroid eye disease, serious liver or kidney problems, low white blood cell counts, or other major health issues listed in the trial.
