Who can take part

  • You have a thymus condition like a tumor, cyst, or hyperplasia (overgrowth) that needs surgery with a robot.
  • You do not have myasthenia gravis, severe obesity (BMI over 35), or sleep apnea.
  • You are healthy enough for surgery (ASA class 3 or lower).
  • You are not on blood thinners, have no allergies to pain drugs, and have no chronic pain or infections near the block site.
  • You have not had previous chest surgery or trauma on the side being operated on.
  • You have no chest deformities or nerve/muscle disorders that affect breathing.
