Heart Failure With Reduced Ejection Fraction

This trial tests a device that stimulates your diaphragm (the muscle that helps you breathe) while you have heart failure. It may help improve your breathing and heart function. The study is for people with moderate heart failure symptoms whose heart pumps less blood than normal.

Who can take part

  • Your heart failure symptoms are moderate (class II or III) and you are on the best medications for your condition.
  • Your heart's electrical signal (QRS) is normal or only slightly widened (130 ms or less).
  • Your heart's pumping ability (ejection fraction) is 40% or less.
  • You can walk between 200 and 500 meters in 6 minutes.
  • Your blood tests for heart strain (NT-proBNP) are above certain levels.
  • You have not had a heart attack, stroke, or certain heart procedures in the last 3 months.
  • Your heart rhythm is stable and you do not have serious arrhythmias or a pacemaker you use regularly.
  • You do not have severe lung disease, diaphragm paralysis, or other major health issues.
