Who can take part
- You must have a diagnosis of major depressive disorder (without psychosis) that started before age 60.
- You must have tried at least one but no more than two antidepressants for your current depression, and they did not work well enough.
- You must be currently taking and tolerating one of these antidepressants at a stable dose for the past 6 weeks: citalopram, duloxetine, escitalopram, fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, milnacipran, levomilnacipran, paroxetine, sertraline, venlafaxine, desvenlafaxine, vilazodone, or vortioxetine.
- Your depression must be at least moderately severe, with significant insomnia symptoms, and not have improved too much during screening.
- You must not have serious medical conditions like kidney failure, unstable heart disease, uncontrolled diabetes, narcolepsy, seizures, or thyroid problems.
