Genetic testing for unusual diabetes types

This study uses advanced genetic testing to find hidden causes of diabetes that doesn't fit the usual types. It may help people whose diabetes was diagnosed before age 46, who are not overweight, and who have certain unusual features like family history or early complications.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and have diabetes, diagnosed before age 46.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) at the time of diagnosis was 35 or less.
  • You have tested negative for certain diabetes-related antibodies (GAD65, IA2, ZnT8).
  • You have at least one of: pancreatic disease, family history of diabetes, family history of related conditions, unusual physical features or learning problems, early diabetes complications, severe insulin shortage at diagnosis, or need for insulin soon after diagnosis.
  • You are willing to follow the study schedule and have health insurance in France.
