Who can take part

  • You must be able to understand the study and agree to take part.
  • You can be of any sex, ethnicity, or from any country.
  • You may have a known genetic variant that affects beta cell function (the cells that make insulin), or you may be a healthy volunteer without that variant.
  • If you are a healthy volunteer, you will be matched by age, sex, and BMI to someone with the variant.
  • Your age must be between 6 and 99 years old.
  • If you need an MRI scan, you cannot have any metal implants or devices in your body, nor be very claustrophobic.
