  • Your child is between 6 and 12 years old.
  • Your child has been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
  • Your child does not have other autoimmune conditions like thyroid problems, Addison disease, pernicious anemia, or celiac disease.
  • Your child does not have any condition that affects how the body uses iron.
