Who can take part
- You are generally healthy (no serious medical conditions).
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You have advanced gum disease with deep gum pockets (6 mm or more), significant attachment loss (5 mm or more), bone loss visible on X-rays, and have lost at least 4 teeth due to gum disease.
- You have not smoked recently.
- You have not taken antibiotics in the last 3 months.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You are not taking any medications that affect healing of your gums or bones.
- You have not had any gum treatment (like scaling or root planing) in the last 6 months.
