Who can take part

  • You are a boy between 7 and 17 years old.
  • You have a genetic diagnosis of Duchenne (DMD) or Becker (BMD) muscular dystrophy, or you do not have any form of muscular dystrophy (control).
  • If you have DMD or BMD, your genetic mutation must affect certain dystrophin proteins (Dp427, and possibly Dp140).
  • You do not have severe vision or hearing loss, or strong fears or sensitivities to study-related stimuli (like loud noises or tight spaces).
  • You are not currently in a clinical trial for a new drug that changes dystrophin.
  • You have a parent or guardian who can give consent, and you are able to give your own agreement (assent).
