Who can take part

  • You are male and between 5 and 30 years old, with a confirmed diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
  • You are male and between 5 and 60 years old, with a confirmed diagnosis of Becker muscular dystrophy.
  • You are a healthy male without any muscle or nerve disease, between 5 and 60 years old (for the control group).
  • You are able to lie still for the ultrasound exam and have not had surgery or amputation in the area being scanned.
  • You do not have severe learning or thinking problems that would make it hard to give consent.
