Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with heart failure and have a weak heart pump (ejection fraction less than 40%).
- You are between 18 and 70 years old.
- You do not have high blood pressure in your lungs (pulmonary hypertension).
- You do not have heart failure that started suddenly from a heart attack or other acute cause.
- You do not have significant valve disease (more than moderate leak or more than mild narrowing), prior valve surgery, or certain other heart conditions (like congenital heart disease, pericardial disease).
- You must have clear enough ultrasound images of your heart.
