Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a total knee replacement (first surgery on that knee).
  • You are over 18 years old.
  • You are in generally good health (classified as ASA I, II, or III).
  • You will receive spinal anesthesia (numbing medicine in your back) for the surgery.
  • You do not have severe liver or kidney problems.
