Who can take part

  • You are having a total knee replacement (not a second replacement or both knees at once).
  • You are between 20 and 70 years old.
  • You are in generally good health (ASA class I, II, or III).
  • You do not have severe kidney problems (eGFR less than 15).
  • You have no history of irregular heartbeat or seizures.
  • You are not allergic to local anesthetics (numbing medicines).
