Who can take part

  • You are between 30 and 70 years old.
  • You have a rare inherited condition called Refractory Familial Cortical Myoclonus with Epilepsy (FCMTE), meaning your tremors and/or seizures have not improved much despite taking medication.
  • Your tremors and seizures make work or daily life very difficult.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form and follow the study rules, including follow-up visits.
  • You do not have any metal implants in your head (like aneurysm clips or a cochlear implant) – unless it is a vagus nerve stimulator that has been stable for at least 3 months.
