New brain stimulation for Essential Tremor

This study tests a new way to use Deep Brain Stimulation (a device that sends tiny electrical pulses to parts of the brain controlling movement) for people with Essential Tremor. It is for those whose current stimulator is no longer working well, or who need a stimulator for the first time.

Who can take part

  • You must be 18 to 85 years old.
  • You have Essential Tremor (shaking when you move your hands, head, or voice) for at least 3 years.
  • You are either already using a brain stimulator that no longer works well, or you are ready to get a stimulator for the first time.
  • Your tremor medication dose has not changed in the past 4 weeks.
  • No Botox injections for tremor in the past 3 months.
  • You are willing and able to follow the study procedures.
