Insulin resistance and heart artery health: a study for chest pain patients

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have chest pain and a recent test showing your heart muscle is not getting enough blood, and your doctor has recommended a heart catheterization.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form to join the study.
  • You do not have a major blockage (more than 70%) in your main heart arteries.
  • You have not had a heart attack, heart stent, or heart bypass surgery before.
  • You do not have diabetes (type 2) or severe obesity (BMI 35 or higher), and your kidneys are working well (eGFR above 30).
